This class will cover 2015 IECC requirements for mechanical systems with an emphasis on duct leakage testing requirements and putting the V back in HVAC. The session will help attendees better understand the benefits of tight construction combined with whole-house mechanical ventilation and enable them to determine the minimum required ventilation rates for a given home. The course will also describe the differences and pros and cons of several mechanical ventilation strategies and help attendees identify and resolve common installation problems. Finally, the class will provide clarity on when duct leakage testing is required along with how to document and verify that HVAC systems are below required leakage rates.
