Course Description
A three-day training series designed for fire officials, design professionals, and municipal employees that summarizes the International Fire Code, evaluates requirements for fire prevention as well as providing the accepted standards for fire and life safety.
The fourth day will cover the class outlines, reviews and explains the changes for the 2021 edition of the IFC.
Learning Objectives
1. Formulate a synopsis of the International Fire Code for the fire official utilizing illustration s of given requirements.
2. Evaluate and summarize general requirements for fire prevention in a building including: emergency preparedness, active and passive fire prevention systems, building features for emergency responders and general precautions against fire.
3. Outline general guidelines to reduce risk including: fire safety during construction, special use requirements and maintenance of life safety systems.
4. Outline general fire resistance rated construction; interior finish, decorative materials and furnishings; fire protection systems.
5. Explain general requirements for fire code enforcement in the changes to the 2021 International Fire Code
Instructors
Building and Fire Code Academy
BFCA Instructors will be utilizing a tool during class for training purposes to engage lessons and collect your work.
Additionally, please note that participants are now required to complete a pre-test and post-test in order to receive their certificate of completion.
Required Materials:
The 2021 International Building Code, the 2021 International Fire Code and a standard calculator are required.

24 UCC continuing education hours awarded for attending all 4 days.

To receive full CEU's for this class, Attendance & Participation in the Live Zoom's are required. You will be expected to attend the full duration of the class.

You must use your full first and last name as your Zoom screen name to obtain your CEU's.
Cancellations must be received in writing by sending an email to cancellations@paconstructioncodesacademy.org . Refunds will be determined by the date of the fax or email. A cancellation received less than 10 business days of the session you are registered for, is subject to a $50 administrative fee and any PayPal transactional fees. Those who cancel within 3 business days of the session date or do not attend, forfeit the full registration fee and if unpaid, will be invoiced. Credit toward future PCCA courses may be accepted upon approval from the PCCA administrator; substitutions may be accepted.
