Is it historic or only old? So then what makes a building, structure or site historic? This webinar addresses these questions as well as others relating to how the Uniform Construction Code addresses historic buildings, structures and sites. Additional topics that will be addressed include: Building code official, accessibility plans examiner and design professional roles in evaluating historic buildings and if provisions of the UCC can be waived. The webinar also features specific suggestions for how a building official can evaluate requests for waivers of UCC provisions within the scope of health, life and public safety considerations. Also discussed are how the UCC and local historic regulations for buildings, structures and districts are interwoven and what laws or regulations take precedence in the review of a building permit application.
