This course will provide an overview of fundamentals of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and cover municipal floodplain management responsibilities, including the duties and responsibilities of municipal floodplain managers. Topics will include a basic overview of the NFIP and flood insurance, accessing and using flood hazard data, administration and enforcement of the floodplain ordinance, the permitting process, and pre/post-disaster considerations.
Provide community floodplain administrators with additional resources and clarity to effectively perform their duties, including:

- Highlighting pre- and post-disaster considerations
- Municipal Floodplain Administrators and Code/Zoning Officials with any level of floodplain management experience
- Municipal/County staff in engineering, zoning, planning and emergency management

A cancellation received less than 10 business days of the session you are registered for, is subject to a $20 processing fee for refunds. Those who cancel within 2 business days of the session date or do not attend, forfeit the full registration fee and if unpaid, will be invoiced. Credit toward future PCCA courses may be accepted upon approval from the PCCA administrator; substitutions may be accepted.
