In this full-day course, participants will be introduced to key advanced floodplain management concepts. Local officials, municipal engineers and floodplain administrators/managers who already have a solid understanding of floodplain management and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), and want to learn more advanced concepts to reduce risk in their communities’ floodplains, should plan to attend. Participants will learn about regulatory practices that exceed the minimum requirements of the NFIP, hydrology and watershed processes, and placement of manufactured homes and recreational vehicles in the floodplain, Risk Map and elevation certificates.
